From Cape Town International Airport on the R43 Distance: 90 km Driving time: approx 60 minutes Take the N2 Highway North from Cape Town International Airport past Somerset West, over Sir Lowry's Pass. After Houw Hoek Pass take the R43 Botrivier/Hermanus turnoff to your left. Continue on the R43 past Hawston, Vermont and Onrus. Before Hermanus at Hemel and Aarde complex turn RIGHT AT SANDBAAI into Main Road (at Engen Garage). At 3rd Avenue turn left. Continue till 3rd Avenue meets Piet Retief Crescent - see SCHULPHOEK entrance (3 flags) Scenic Route (from Cape Town via the coast on the R44 Distance: 120km Driving time: approx 90 min Take N2 towards Somerset West. Turn left at R44 to Strand ( just past the Shell Garage). Proceed to Strand until Gordon's Bay. Travel on R44 along the coastal road, "Clarence Drive" to Rooiels, Hangklip, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. Continue through Kleinmond and join R43 to HERMANUS. Continue past Hawston, Vermont and Onrus. Before Hermanus at Hemel and Aarde complex turn RIGHT AT SANDBAAI into Main Road (at Engen Garage) At 3rd Avenue turn left. Continue till 3rd Avenue meets Piet Retief Crescent. See SCHULPHOEK entrance (3 flags). From the Garden Route to Schulphoek (Hermanus) Distance: 563km Driving time approx 7 hours N2 Knysna to George - 161 km 2 hours N2 George to Mosselbay - 82 km 1 hour N2 Mosselbay to Riversdale - 82 km 1 hour N2 Riversdale to Swellendam - 80 km 1 hour N2 Swellendam to Riviersonderend - 61 km 40 min N2 Riviersonderend to Rietpoel turn-off 10 km 10 min N2 Rietpoel to Stanford - 54 km 40 min R43 Stanford to HERMANUS - 33km 20 min Main Road into Hermanus - continue through the town centre 4.6km on R43 to SANDBAAI traffic light intersection - TURN LEFT into Sandbaai MAIN ROAD (at Engen Garage). At the 3rd stop sign turn LEFT into 3RD AVENUE. Continue to next stop and see SCHULPHOEK entrance sign (3 flag poles).
