The Green Tree Guest Cottages are situated on a working dairy farm, where the potential was realized in the safe and central location of the farm, for guests wanting to enjoy big 5 game viewing while visiting the Addo Elephant Park, Schotia Safari’s, Amakhala Game Reserve, the Sunshine Coast and The Frontier Country.

BED & BREAKFAST guests can enjoy a healthy breakfast in the inviting dining room, each morning you will get something different to enjoy. Should you wish to leave early or want to picnic at the Addo Elephant Park, a breakfast basket can also be supplied. Light suppers by prior arrangement are served at your cottage in the evenings.
SELF CATERING guests can get wood on the farm should they wish to braai. All other produce can be bought from the Spar grocery store at Colchester, on your way from Port Elizabeth. Colchester also has a cozy restaurant, or you can pop in at the Nanaga Farm stall for breakfast and lunches. (No meals are provided when self-catering). ROOMS AND FACILITIES
All four cottages are spacious, beautifully decorated, all with own entrance, private patios, air-conditioners and barbeque facilities. The cottages are tastefully furnished with Cape cottage furniture and a hint of Africa, to create a tasteful Southern African interior. "The Porcupine Cottage" (Cottage No 1) has a double bed and two twin beds, this room will be allocated to guest that prefer twin beds, or a group of 3 people wanting to share a room. The bathroom consists of a bath and Shower, done in stone to give it that earthy, organic feel. "The Springbuck Cottage" (Cottage No 2) has a double bed with an extra bunk bed in it for guest with children. It is the only cottage with its own fully equipped kitchen, should you maybe want to do self-catering. The bathroom is en-suite with large shower, toilet and basin.
"The Bushuck Cottage" (Cottage No 3) is a double room with en-suite wet room (huge shower). All the cottages have a lovely view, and from the patio’s you can see guinea fowl and farm animals in the fields and enjoy the calm of the Eastern Cape sunsets. “The Kudu Cottage” (Cottage 4) is also a Double room, with king size bed, the cottage also has a spacious en-suite bathroom with large shower, and as all the other cottages, gives you enough space, to ensure a very comfortable stay
SELF-CATERING guest can get wood on the farm as well as braai baskets (by prior arrangement) should they wish to braai. All other produce can be bought from the Spar grocer store at Colchester. Colchester also has a cosy restaurant, which is popular for their steaks. For Lunches, or tee time treats, the Nanga Farm stall is the place to be, 13 km from us.

AttractionsTHINGS TO DO ON THE FARM Take full advantage of our South African weather and sunbath around the swimming pool on those warm summer days, or catch up on your reading time under the trees of the peaceful garden. Children can explore the farm, or have fun on the trampoline and swings. They can also feed the goats, rabbits, geese and chickens at the small touch farm. Guests are also welcome to take a walk to the dairy and see how the cows are milked. There is also plenty of bird and natural animal life around the farm. GAME DRIVES AND AREA INFOEssendene Game Farm, 3kms from The Green Tree offers 2 hour Game Drives with a professional guide in an open Landrover. Game including, Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland, Kudu, Nyala, Zebra, Impala and many more species. Rates from R150.00 per person (minimum charge R450.00 for less than 4 people) Book with The Green Tree in advance. Schotia Safaris, offers game Drives 16 km from The Green Tree Starting at 2h30- Game Drive and supper in the Bush boma.Amakhala Game Reserve offer a game drive 23 km from The Green Tree, with lunch and river cruise included. The Woody Cape Nature Reserve and forest close to Alexandria (part of the Addo Park) for the nature enthusiast.For the bird lover, visit the Nukakamma Canoe trail (26 km), and do bird watching from a canoe on the Sundays River. Fishing can also be done at the Sundays River. Enjoy a walk along the beach at Colchester and see the beautiful moving sand dunes of the Eastern Cape. For the more adventurous Quad bikes can be rented at Nduna Game Drives, where game can be viewed from the bikes. TOURS Amalanga Tours from Port Elizabeth, does day Tours to the Addo Park. Guests are picked up at The Green Tree, and brought back again, after a lovely day at the Addo Park. Enquire for details when booking. If the cottages are booked on a Bed and breakfast basis, a healthy breakfast is served in the Inviting Dining room by Lezl, who prepares all meals her self and well known for her great cooking. Should you wish to leave early or want to picnic at the Addo Elephant Park, a breakfast basket can also be supplied. Light Suppers are served by prior arrangement, on the veranda of your cottage, where you can enjoy watching the magnificent sunsets and listen to the chatter of the guiniefowl. Suppers normally consist of true South African dishes, such as Bobotie, Homade Chicken Pie, Tomato Stew (Tamatie Bredie) and fresh garden Salad plus something sweet. Special offersSummer Special Enjoy time with family and friends at The Green Tree Cottages, while visiting the game reserves of the Eastern Cape, such as Addo Park, Schotia and Amakhala. Our Self-catering is on special for R290.00 per person sharing and our B&B is at normal rate of R420.00 per person. Subject to a minimum of 2 night stay.

DirectionsDirections from Port Elizabeth
From Port Elizabeth follow the N2 highway in the direction of Grahamstown. At Nanaga 48km out of Port Elizabeth, take the R72 in the Direction of Port Alfred. Drive for 12 km and you will find our signpost on the left - hand side of the road.
Directions from Bloemfontein
Take the N10 From Bloemfontein through Cradock. From Paterson drive for approximately 20 km and take the turn off (R72) to Port Alfred. Drive for 12 km and you will find our sign post on the left hand side of the road.
Directions from East London/Port Alfred
Take the R72 drive till Alexandria, from Alexandria drive for 37 km and you will find our sign post on the right hand side of the road.
